What Is a Good CPS?

CPS — clicks per second — is the measure of click speed in games like Minecraft PvP. Here is what counts as good.

Clicking techniques

  • Regular clicking: one finger, relaxed. 6–8 CPS for most people.
  • Jitter clicking: tensing the forearm so the finger vibrates on the button. 10–14 CPS, tiring.
  • Butterfly clicking: two fingers alternating on one button. Can reach 15–20 CPS, but some mice register it as double clicks.
  • Drag clicking: dragging a finger across the button so friction makes it bounce. Very high counts, depends on the mouse.
