How to use the Click Speed Test
- Click inside the click area — the 10-second timer starts on the first click.
- Keep clicking until the timer hits zero. Clicks, time left and live CPS update as you go.
- Read your total clicks and clicks per second. The area locks for a second so a stray click does not start a new run.

Total clicks vs. clicks per second
This test counts how many times you can click in 10 seconds, then divides by the time to give your CPS. Ten seconds is long enough to show whether you can hold your pace, and short enough to go all-out. A typical casual result is 60–70 clicks (6–7 CPS).
Prefer a pure CPS test? The CPS test opens on a 5-second run.
Clicking techniques
Regular clicking with one finger gets most people 6–8 CPS. Jitter clicking tenses the forearm so the finger vibrates, reaching 10–14 CPS. Butterfly clicking alternates two fingers on one button and can register even higher. Take breaks: fast techniques strain the wrist, and some mice register butterfly clicks as double clicks.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good click speed?
Around 6–7 clicks per second is average. 9+ is fast, and 12+ usually means jitter or butterfly clicking.
Can I change the test length?
Yes: 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds. This page opens on 10 seconds.
Does it work on phones?
Yes — tap the area. Multi-finger tapping on a touchscreen counts each tap.
Why does the area lock after a run?
For one second after the timer ends, clicks are ignored so your last click does not start a new test by accident.
