How to use the Webcam Test
- Press Start webcam test and allow camera access when asked.
- Check the live preview, the resolution and the frame rate.
- Switch cameras from the menu if you have more than one. Press Stop to turn the camera off.
Private by design
The video stays on your device. It is shown in the preview and never recorded, stored or uploaded. Stop turns the camera off immediately.
Camera not detected?
Close other apps that may be using the camera (video calls, recording software). On Windows check Settings → Privacy → Camera; on macOS check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera. Laptops sometimes have a physical shutter or a function key that disables the camera.

Is the webcam test safe?
Yes. The video is only displayed locally in your browser and never leaves your device.
Why is the resolution lower than advertised?
The browser negotiates a resolution with the camera. Lighting, USB bandwidth and other apps can limit it.
Why is my picture mirrored?
Previews are mirrored by default so movement feels natural. Use the Mirror switch to see the real orientation.
